Surah Name: Al-Anbya Meaning: The Prophets-AS
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِه عَالِمِينَ Walaqad atayna ibraheema rushdahu min qablu wakunna bihi AAalimeen(a) And assuredly We-SWT gave rectitude to Ibrahim-AS aforetime, and him We-SWT had ever known. (21:51) |
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi ma hathihi a(l)ttamatheelu allatee antum laha AAakifoon(a) Recall when he said to his father and his people: what are these images which you are bowing to? (21:52) |
قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ Qaloo wajadna abaana laha AAabideen(a) They said: We found our fathers their worshippers. (21:53) |
قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ Qala laqad kuntum antum waabaokum fee dalalin mubeen(in) He said: Assuredly you, you and your fathers have been in error manifest. (21:54) |
قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ Qaloo ajitana bi(a)lhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeen(a) They said: Have you come to us in seriousness, or are you among those who sport? (21:55) |
Qala bal rabbukum rabbu a(l)ssamawati wa(a)lardi allathee fatarahunna waana AAala thalikum mina a(l)shshahideen(a) He said: Aye! Your Rabb-SWT is the Rabb-SWT of the heavens and the earth Who-SWT created them; and of that I am among the witnesses. (21:56) |
وَتَاللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا مُدْبِرِينَ Wata(A)llahi laakeedanna asnamakum baAAda an tuwalloo mudbireen(a) And by Allah-SWT , I am surely going to devise a plot against your idols, after you have turned your backs. (21:57) |
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ FajaAAalahum juthathan illa kabeeran lahum laAAallahum ilayhi yarjiAAoon(a) Then he made them fragments, all except the big one of them, that perhaps to it they may return. (21:58) |
قَالُوا مَن فَعَلَ هَذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ Qaloo man faAAala hatha bialihatina innahu lamina a(l)ththalimeen(a) They said: Who has done this to our gods? Surely he is of the evil-doers. (21:59) |
قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ Qaloo samiAAna fatan yathkuruhum yuqalu lahu ibraheem(u) They said among themselves: We heard a youth, called Ibrahim-AS speak of them with disrespect. (21:60) |
قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَى أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ Qaloo fatoo bihi AAala aAAyuni a(l)nnasi laAAallahum yashhadoon(a) They said: Bring him then before the eyes of the people, perhaps they may bear witness. (21:61) |
قَالُوا أَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ Qaloo aanta faAAalta hatha bialihatina ya ibraheem(u) They said: Are you the one who has done this to our gods, Ibrahim-AS? (21:62) |
قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا يَنطِقُونَ Qala bal faAAalahu kabeeruhum hatha fa(i)saloohum in kanoo yantiqoon(a) He said: Rather he has done it, the big one of them; so question them, if they ever speak. (21:63) |
فَرَجَعُوا إِلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ ( FarajaAAoo ila anfusihim faqaloo innakum antumu a(l)ththalimoon(a) They then turned to themselves and said: You it is who are the evil-doers. (21:64) |
ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا عَلَى رُؤُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَؤُلَاء يَنطِقُونَ Thumma nukisoo AAala ruoosihim laqad AAalimta ma haolai yantiqoon(a) Thereafter they were put to utter confusion, saying: Certainly you know that they speak not. (21:65) |
قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ Qala afataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAukum shayan wala yadurrukum He said: Do you worship them besides Allah-SWT , what can neither profit you nor hurt you. (21:66) |
أُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ Offin lakum walima taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi afala taAAqiloon(a) Fie upon you and upon what you worship besides Allah-SWT , will you not then reflect? (21:67) |
قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ وَانصُرُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ Qaloo harriqoohu wa(o)nsuroo alihatakum in kuntum faAAileen(a) They said: Burn him and succour your gods, if you will be doing. (21:68) |
قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ Qulna ya naru koonee bardan wasalaman AAala ibraheem(a) We-SWT said: O Fire! Be you coolness and safety for Ibrahim-AS. (21:69) |
وَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَخْسَرِينَ Waaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu alakhsareen(a) And they wanted to do him harm, but We-SWT made themselves the worst losers. (21:70) |
وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ Wanajjaynahu walootan ila alardi allatee barakna feeha lilAAalameen(a) And We-SWT delivered him and Lut, to the land in which We-SWT had placed the blessings for the worlds. (21:71) |
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَالِحِينَ Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba nafilatan wakullan jaAAalna saliheen(a) And We-SWT bestowed upon him Ishaq-AS and Yaqub-AS as a grandson, and each one We-SWT made righteous. (21:72) |
WajaAAalnahum aimmatan yahdoona biamrina waawhayna ilayhim fiAAla alkhayrati waiqama a(l)ssalati waeetaa a(l)zzakati wakanoo lana AAabideen(a) And We-SWT made them leaders, guiding by Our-SWT Command, and We-SWT revealed to them the doing of good deeds and the establishment of Salat and the giving of Zakat, and of Us-SWT they were the worshippers. (21:73) |
Walootan ataynahu hukman waAAilman wanajjaynahu mina alqaryati allatee kanat taAAmalu alkhabaitha innahum kanoo qawma sawin fasiqeen(a) And as to Lut-AS, We-SWT gave him judgement and knowledge, and We-SWT delivered him out of the city which had been working foul deeds; verily they were a people evil, wicked. (21:74) |
وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا إِنَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ Waadkhalnahu fee rahmatina innahu mina a(l)ssaliheen(a) And We-SWT caused him to enter Our-SWT Mercy; verily he was of the righteous. (21:75) |
